Mercury Retrograde is here again!
Technically, it doesn't start until Wednesday of this week, but already the effects are showing up - mostly in my computer, my friend's computers and the emails. Reason? Mercury Retrograde affects all forms of communications and computers are NOT immune.
So what do you need to know about this time of Mercury being in retrograde?
Here's a brief overview and then an inspiring story of how one woman "re-framed" this planetary havoc to her own benefit.
What can happen when Mercury is in Retrograde:
- Medical or Dental: Diagnosis made could be wrong, appointments cancelled.
- Business: Problems with contracts, meetings, merges, paper work, etc.
- Telecommunication: Phones, satellites, computer systems and related
- Travel: Lost luggage, flight delays, vehicle problems, getting lost even with a GPS system
- Decisions: Change or you feel indecisive
- Relationships, friendships and partnerships: Changes made and reviewed
- Emails! Lost, blocked, bounced, put in spam folders by mistake.

"That's it," Sam thought. "I've had it." Her emails were bouncing, her computer was slowed to an almost freeze, her cell phone kept ringing, but no one was there, and her anti-depressants which were supposed to be delivered 3 days ago were lost somewhere in the Federal Express ether.
To add insult to injury, her newest love sent her a beautiful email of love and promise, but he addressed it to someone named Cynthia. Who the heck was Cynthia?
Shutting down her lap top, Sam decided to go for a walk on the beach. It was pretty hot outside, but nevertheless, she needed a break. Maybe she'd just stop at one of the little beach cafe's and get a bite to eat. Mexican food always balanced her spirits, she'd do that.
Sam closed the door to her little beach cottage, checked to see that everything was unplugged (not that anything was working anyway), and walked toward the beautiful boardwalk and the ocean. Already she felt better.
As she sat down at her table, the waitress came over to take her order. The place was empty except for one other table, so maybe Mercury Retrograde wouldn't mess up this part of her day.
When her margarita arrived, Sam had to smile. She ALWAYS ordered on the rocks with no salt. This was blended and with salt. Sam smiled to herself as she thought: "Ok, Mercury, I can play your game. Watch this."
If she wanted a burrito, she'd order a hamburger. Instead of guacamole, she'd order fries, and just for grins, she'd send back her margarita and ask for wine.
Sam laughed to herself. Two could play THIS game.
Sam placed her order - eager to see how her plan to mess with Mercury would work out.
But in her mind, she kept picturing the burrito, the guacamole and the margarita. Maybe a little mind control would sweeten the results!
As she sipped the wine that she had exchanged for the margarita, Sam watched in amazement as the waitress brought out her order. A hamburger - but not well done, cooked rare. Fries, but not the traditional ones that she liked, home baked country style instead.
However, her mind control had worked! The waitress also had a burrito, a margarita on the rocks and a side of guacamole on her large tray! And, the burrito was just as she liked it - so was the guacamole.
"Aha!" thought Sam. " I have discovered a mystical secret. How to get around Mercury Retrograde! Use Mind Control."
Sam ate the burrito and guacamole, then asked for her bill. Yikes!
She might have messed with Mercury, but her experiment cost her an extra $21 before tip!
Sam paid the bill, pulled out the little calendar in her purse to see how long she'd have to endure this lunacy, and saw that it was going to continue for three weeks more - until October 15th!
She'd take a trip somewhere, but her plane would probably go to the wrong place. She had that contract for her new client ready, but that might get screwed up too. Was she just supposed to stop her life for this wayward planet that thrived on wreaking havoc with communications?
Sam was in a quandry. Then she got it! Her mind control HAD worked at the restaurant. She would simply use her mind control where it wouldn't cost her money. She'd train her mind to be hyper vigilant and get really good at her visualizations.
And she'd double verify everything. Starting with running a background check on that creep who sent her a love email addressed to the wrong name.
Her new mantra would be "Confirm - Don't Assume!" That was it! Her gift from Mercury Retrograde was a new way of being in the world.
In the grand scheme of things, Sam thought, that was a pretty good outcome.
Sam would journal her thoughts on Mercury and like Anais Nin, "write to taste life twice."
She SO loved re-arranging the realities others so easily accepted. Yes, Sam would be just fine.
